From 1 April 2016, the Government is introducing the National Living Wage, which offers a premium rate on top of the current National Minimum Wage.
If you have employees who are 25 or over and not in their first year of an apprenticeship, from 1st April 2016 you must pay them at least £7.20 an hour.
Note: Employers who don't comply with the national minimum wage are subject to automatic financial penalties. Even if you mistakenly underpay employees, you'll have to pay the penalty. The penalties range between £100 and £5,000 and in the most serious cases, you could also face an unlimited fine.
